Fairy Hugs Freddie

Hi and welcome back to my happy place! Today I am sharing a project using Fairy Hugs Freddie! I love frogs, and used to have pet frogs when I was growing up, so Fairy Hugs Freddie makes me smile. I love the expression on his little face!!! You can find Freddie, at the Fairy Hugs Store, which is fairly new stamp company, but amazing, high quality products.

I made a 7×7 inch project, as I plan to frame it and keep it in my studio. The background is from old Geli press print that I pulled a while back and hadn’t used. I used multiple stencils and acrylic paints to make the background. Using a Misit stamping tool I stamped Freddie three times with Versafine Onyx Black ink as I was going over multiple layers of paint and impressions. After getting the result I wanted, I heat embossed Freddie with clear embossing powder. I added white and copper gel pen details to Freddie and to the background. I also distressed the edges and blended Vintage Photo and Stormy Sky Distress Oxide ink to add dimension and depth to the project. For the final touches I highlighted Freddie with Bronze Glitter Powder and then mounted the panel to a gold and black card stock.

  1. Wow, Joy! Words seem inadequate. There is nothing that I would change in this creation of yours; nothing that I do not like. What a wonderful background you’ve created with your Geli press print, stencilling and acrylic paints. Freddie the frog is such a lovely rich black and the addition of the white and copper gel pen detailing adds so much to the whole. This will be perfect on your wall where others can enjoy your delightful creation. Thanks so much for sharing with us for the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.
